At La-Z-Boy Southeast I led development of the Claims System — a custom WordPress/PHP platform that automated our furniture warranty-claims process with vendors end to end, from the loading dock to the accounting department. Since implementation it has recovered over a million dollars in product-damage credits.
The Challenge
Damage claims leaked money at every manual step: initiating the claim, validating it with the vendor, chasing the credit, and reconciling it in accounting. Each handoff meant delay, error, and revenue quietly written off. The fix had to manage the entire claims journey — not just one step of it.
What I Delivered

Claim intake
Claims start in the system the moment damage is found — structured, photographed, and tracked from the dock.

Vendor validation
Automated the vendor-facing steps so claims moved through review instead of sitting in inboxes.

Credit processing
Credits tracked to the penny through accounting — nothing written off because nobody followed up.

Dock-to-ledger flow
One platform managing the whole journey, integrated with existing systems along the way.

The Impact
Over $1,000,000 in product-damage revenue recovered since implementation — money that used to evaporate in manual handoffs. Stronger vendor relationships, cleaner books, and a claims process nobody has to chase.
A Million-Dollar Workflow
The Claims System is what process automation looks like when it’s aimed at the balance sheet: find the leak, build the pipe, and let the system do the chasing. It remains in daily use.
